Margaret Rickerd
PORTLAND, OR- Margaret (Hogan) Rickerd, age 90, passed away peacefully of natural causes on November 1, 2025, in Portland Oregon.
Born on December 17, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Marquette, MI, Margaret lived a full and vibrant life rooted in faith, family, and enduring strength.
A devoted mother and cherished presence to those around her, Margaret is lovingly remembered by her four children, Patrick Hogan, Kathy Hatcher, Kelly Hopkins and Kurt Rickerd, as well as eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Karen Hogan, mother Agnes Dagenais, father Wesley Campbell, stepgrandfather Elmer Dagenais, and brother Richard Campbell.
Margaret’s life was marked by unwavering dedication to her family. Known for always putting others before herself, she created a home filled with warmth and care. Her tireless work ethic and nurturing spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
An active woman well into her later years, Margaret found joy in simple pleasures that kept her connected to the world around her. She loved walking and swimming-activities she continued long into old age-demonstrating both vitality and determination. She also had a creative side expressed through crocheting and took great delight in decorating for the holidays, bringing festive cheer to every season.
Margaret and her family moved from Michigan to the Southwest US and eventually spent most of her life in the Portland Oregon metro area. Her faith was an important part of her life. As a member of the Beaverton Foursquare Church, in Beaverton, Oregon, Margaret found strength and community through her Christian beliefs.
Margaret also had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed watching Seinfeld-a show that brought laughter into her home and reflected her appreciation for life’s lighter moments.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May it bring comfort to reflect on the grace with which she lived and the love she so freely gave.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on February 1, 2026 at Rolling Hills Community Church 3550 SW Borland Rd, Tualatin, OR at 2:00 PM
