Marcia Ann Bogdan

To know her was to love her.

POMPANO BEACH, FLORIDA – Marcia Ann Bogdan, age 74, of Pompano Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the loving care of her family and caregivers.

Gallant lady, pioneer woman, casual elegance, down to earth, astute and caring, understanding, in tuned at reading people, fine tuned into listening, understanding people and treating them as special…and making sure they felt that warmth, that radiating aura that was Marcia’s countenance.

A trait that is rare… found only in the best of us… that was Marcia.

A remarkable woman, much like a rose unfurling its petals she graced this world with her presence. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, kindness and an unwavering dedication to those around her. She was a beacon of strength.

Marcia was born and raised in Marquette, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Markosky) Rose. She graduated from Bishop Baraga High School in 1969. During her high school years, she met Thom Bogdan, who was then attending Northern Michigan University.

Though their paths initially diverged, fate would reunite them years later. After graduating from High School, Marcia attended Northern Michigan University, where she received her degree in Nursing.

Marcia devoted much of her life to caring for others. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Tobin in Ishpeming and at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility under Brad Cory. She later relocated to the Detroit area, where she continued her nursing career for three years. Driven by love and responsibility, Marcia returned to Marquette to care for her mother and family while also working as a nurse at the Marquette Branch Prison, where she served for two years. Afterward, Marcia took a position at Scarlett O’Haras, where she once again crossed paths with Thom. They shared a love that is hard to find and the two were married on November 5, 1977. Together, they raised their family in the Marquette area. Following her time at Scarlett O’Haras, Marcia and Thom owned and operated a successful auction company in Marquette for 12 years. She also worked in a QA role at Marquette General Hospital.

In 1996, Marcia and Thom moved to Florida, where Marcia continued her impactful work in risk management nursing until her retirement in 2005. Though Florida became home, the couple cherished summers spent at their RV home in Minnesota, where they made treasured memories with their grandchildren. Marcia loved the holidays, cooking, traveling, a good book, the beach, Faith in God, sunsets and roses in her garden. Her family was everything to her. She cherished time spent with family and friends, and those she had not met yet. Marcia was the “queen of the crowd,” she stood out without even trying. Effortlessly with her casual elegance, warmth, and grace. She was beautiful, loving, giving, selfless, and deeply caring. Her Heart was gold; she was more than a special woman she was everything this world needs to be.

Her presence was a source of strength and inspiration; a reminder of the beauty and power of a life lived with love and purpose. As the sun sets on her earthly journey, we hold her memory close, like a cherished storybook, forever grateful for the light she brought into our lives.

Marcia is survived by her beloved husband, Thom Bogdan; her children, Nick Bogdan of Minnesota and Sarah Bogdan(Damian)grand-dog Sasha of Florida; and her grandchildren, Cady (Colin) and Drake Bogdan; her brothers, Bob (Judy) Ingison, Dan Rose, Tom (Traci) Rose, and Bill (Marlene) Rose; her sister, Jackie (Ruben) McEachern; and her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Jeanne (Tim) Mahoney, Libby (Bill) Lovis, Mary (Rick) Hansen, Mike Bogdan, and Kathy Bogdan as well as several nieces nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Cashton; her brothers, Jimmy (Donna) Rose, Michael Rose and Michael Rose Toldness; her father-in-law, Ted Bogdan; her stepmother in law, Maggie Linn; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Bogdan; her stepfather in law Ed Chesko, her sister-in-law, Laurie Bogdan; her maternal grandparents, Bernadette and Harry Markosky; her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Rose Rose; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
