John Symons

John was born July 23, 1947 in Ishpeming to John R. and Mary L. (Leveille) Symons, Sr. and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1967. He owned and operated Lincoln Street Auto in Negaunee, where he showcased his talented auto body and painting work. He enjoyed spending time at camp, cruising around town and visiting with his many friends. John was a member of the Negaunee VFW Auxiliary and the Negaunee Fireworks crew for many years.

Surviving are his longtime companion, Kathy McDonnell; daughter, Linda Kimsel of Marquette; two grandchildren; four sisters: Kathleen (Kenny Maki) Symons, Patricia (Howard) Garbett, Sheree Pelletier and Julie Heidtman, all of Negaunee; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Michael and Robert Symons.

Honoring John’s wishes, no public services will be held. Interment will take place on the family plot in the Negaunee Cemetery.
