Donald Jenkins, Jr.
NEGAUNEE, MI- Donald George Jenkins, Jr., 78, of Negaunee, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, January 4, 2026 at UP Health System-Marquette with his loving family at his side.
Donald was born July 3, 1947 in Ishpeming to Donald and Alice (Lindstrom) Jenkins, Sr. and was a graduate of Negaunee High School, Class of 1965. He then attended Northern Michigan University and earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial technology. After graduation, Donald served in the United States Army during Vietnam, being honorably discharged after two years of service. Donald’s career began at Lakeshore, Inc. where he worked as a machinist and electrician. When Lakeshore closed its doors, he transitioned to Malton Electric in Ishpeming from where he retired.
Donald was a longtime member of the Negaunee Eagles Club and the Negaunee Cribbage League. He was an avid weightlifter, enjoyed camping around the UP, boating, four wheeling and being outdoors.
Donald is survived by his loving companion of 27 years, Annette Cox of Negaunee, his daughter, Pamela (Kristopher) Taskila of Elberton, Georgia; his former wife, Sandra Jenkins; two sisters: Joanne (Charles) Granroth of Oregon and Darlene (Jack) Korpi of Negaunee; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a beloved niece, Ressi Marie Miller-Mckinney.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, January 7th from 4-7 pm at the Negaunee VFW.
