Bernadine Shirley Sorelle

MARQUETTE, MI – Bernadine “Bernie” Sorelle of 2651 Boundbrook Blvd. #102, West Palm Beach, Florida went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 13, 2026 after a long full life.

Bernie was born June 3, 1927 to Fred and Mary (Vizna) Miron in Baraga, Michigan, the fifth of eight children.

Bernie graduated from Baraga High School and married Joseph Russell Sorelle in 1949 and was a stay-at-home mom until her four children were all school aged. She then worked for eighteen years as a medical records technician at Lacroix Hospital in White Pine, Michigan.

She was predeceased by her parents, an infant daughter, Carol Jean, and all her siblings: Jean Sauvola, Eleanor Piper, Madeline Selden, Gerry Miron, Ken Miron, Claude “Block” Miron and Anne Rajala.

Bernie is survived by her children Peter Sorelle (Peggy Knivila) of Bruce Crossing, MI; Susan Sorelle of West Palm Beach, FL; Paul (Hollie) Sorelle of Elk, WA; Patrick (Terry) Sorelle of Green Bay, WI. and two sisters-in-law Darlene Miron and Pearl Miron. She enjoyed her ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and often baked her special chocolate chip cookies for all to enjoy. She is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews and a special niece Bonnie Roy of Houghton, MI.

Reading mystery stories, baking cookies, cheering on the Detroit Tigers and walking along the shore of Lake Superior were her favorite activities. Bernie also loved being a Snowbird joining her daughter Susan in West Palm Beach where they stayed the winters and made many new friends. We know she continues to pray for all of us, driven by her unwavering Faith in God.

A celebration of life will take place on August 12, 2026. Friends may call at St. Christopher Catholic Church on August 12, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm with Rev. Daniel Moll, pastor, as celebrant. All who knew and loved her are welcome to come to share memories and reconnect.
