Tyrone Bossert
NEGAUNEE, MI-Tyrone Larry ‘Ty’ Bossert, 85, of Negaunee, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 3, 2025 at The Trillium House in Marquette.
Ty was born March 30, 1940 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Theodore and Edna (Sautter) Bossert and grew up on a farm in Linton, North Dakota. Following school, he honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Ty moved to Ishpeming in the 1960’s while employed for DuPont as a foreman in their explosives division, working in the iron mines. He then worked as a salesman for Northstate Equipment and Supply.
Mr. Bossert served as a volunteer firefighter for the Ishpeming Fire Department. He enjoyed working in the yard and spending time outdoors; hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends at camp on the Dead River Basin.
Surviving are his children: Brenda (Kevin) Seher of Baldwin, ND, Tim (Fran) Bossert of Horace, ND, Bradley (Stacey) Bossert of Negaunee and Tricia (Earl) Mann of Ishpeming Township; nine grandchildren: Alyssa (Sam) Nicholson, Beth (Dylan) Honeyman, Josh (Britney) Bossert, Jacob (Melissa) Bossert, Brooke (Nick) Young, Bradley Bossert, Cooper Bossert, Hayden Mann and Garrett (Jillian) Mann; several great-grandchildren; his brother, Ted (Debbie) Bossert of Linton, ND; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Becky (Couture) Bossert in 2015; brother, Terry and sister, Tonita.
Honoring Ty’s wishes, private family services will be held. Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.
