Marilynn Ruth Laitinen

Marilynn was born January 4, 1936 to William ‘Buster’ and Ruth (Niemi) Riekki and was a graduate of Negaunee High School, Class of 1954. After graduation, Marilyn worked as a secretary at the Empire Mine in Palmer. She enjoyed camping, knitting, playing dice, cleaning, baking, and working on puzzles. She was a loving mom, wife, grandma and great-grandma.

Surviving are her son, Rick Laitinen, her beloved grandchildren: Sara, Katie, Josh, and Jenna; great-grandchildren: Everly and Eiley Kumpula, and Aaliyah Laitinen; and a daughter-in-law, Kelly (Frazier) Laitinen, whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Ronald in 2016; her son Dave Laitinen, and one brother: Jack Riekki.

Honoring Marilynn’s wishes, no public services will be held.
