Kay Corkin
NEGAUNEE, MI-Kay Corkin, 82, of Negaunee, passed away early Friday morning, November 28, 2025 at UP Health System Marquette.
Kay was born August 2, 1943 in Ishpeming to Joseph and Aili (Lahti) Billings and graduated from Ishpeming High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Corkin, on August 24, 1963 and they raised their family in Negaunee.
Kay was employed as an office manager for Robbins Flooring Mill. She was a longtime member of Marquette Hope Negaunee Mitchell Campus, formerly Mitchell United Methodist Church. Kay was a loving wife and devoted homemaker, and enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Big Perch Lake.
Surviving are her two sons, Gerry Corkin of Marquette and Gregg Corkin of Ishpeming; her daughter, Paula (Ronald) Corkin-Pierce of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; four grandchildren: Andrew and Jamie Corkin, and Jarroed (Abigayle) and Aireka Pierce; great-grandchildren: Zachary, Abby and Oakleigh; two brothers: Joseph (Anne) and Kurt (Donna) Billings; her lifelong friend, Mary Ellen Kukkuri; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Gerry in 2023.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until the time of funeral services at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 5th at Koskey Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Harmon officiating. Burial will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery.
