Dorothy Lorraine Carros Arnold

BAY CITY, MI- Dorothy Lorraine Carros Arnold, 94, of Bay City formerly of Marquette, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at New Hope Bay.

Dorothy was born on June 27, 1931, in Scranton, PA. She was the daughter of Alexander and Bridget (Krukar) Olszewski.

Dorothy graduated from Montrose High School in Montrose Pennsylvania and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Oakland University, followed by a master’s degree from Northern Michigan University. Dorothy dedicated many years to teaching; she was a first-grade teacher at Parkview Elementary School in Marquette, Michigan, and also taught in Pontiac, Michigan. Her love for education touched countless young lives over her career.

A longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Marquette, Dorothy was an active member of her community. She loved gardening, reading, and cooking, and was involved with the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO). Dorothy also enjoyed participating in a book club, where her passion for literature shone through.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter-in-law, Pamela (Donald) Carros; son-in-law, John (Joanne) Cederna; stepdaughter, Robin (Ken) Hill; granddaughters, Megan (Michael) Woods, Allison Cederna, and Hillary Cederna; great-grandson, Andrew Woods, many nieces and nephews and best friend, Mary Carnahan. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was also preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Carros, second husband, Richard Arnold; son Donald Carros; daughter, Joanne Cederna; also, her brothers and sister.
