Diana J. Ruuska
RICHARDSON, TX Diana J. Ruuska passed away in Lewisville, Texas, at the age of 86.
She was survived by her children, Brian (Barbara), Brenda, Gregory (Kris), Jay (Dianne), 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and siblings, Richard (Marilyn) Wagner, Julie Ekegren, and Jon (Sheila) Wagner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon R. Ruuska; parents, Eugene and Miriam Wagner; and siblings, Gerald, Eugene, and Jill Hietala.
Born in Trout Creek, Michigan, she graduated high school in South Milwaukee, WI in 1957 and moved to Minneapolis, MN where she worked for the University of Minnesota and met Vernon.
She married Vernon in 1960 and raised their family in Oak Creek, WI, Turnersville, NJ, and Richardson, TX. Before retiring, she worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas.
Diana loved to read, tend plants and flowers, glaze ceramics, knit and crochet, travel, and bake and cook meals and desserts-especially for out of town guests. She was a devoted member of the Finnish Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church.
Diana’s funeral was held in Grapevine, TX on Dec. 18, 2025, with interment next to her husband Vernon at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. See dignitymemorial.com.
