Bernie W. Kylma

He was born November 21, 1941, in Kettle River, Minnesota, a son of Arthur and Elsie (Hill) Kylma.

Bernie joined the US Air Force when he was 18 years old. He served 20 years, was a Vietnam veteran and retired in 1979.

Following his military retirement, Bernie worked at Superior Auto Glass with his many friends and colleagues. He learned to weld and spent countless hours in his garage working on projects including building his own truck and pontoon boat. He was a member of the Gwinn VFW.

Bernie is survived by his wife, Beverly (Heidtman) Kylma of Gwinn, whom he married on March 24, 1994; step-children, Diana (William Keane) Ketola of Traverse City, MI, Gerald Ketola, Jr. of Gwinn and Barry (Karen Fennessy) Ketola of Freeland, MI; grandchildren, Matthew (Kristen) Prater of Los Angeles, CA, Bobbi Lynn (Justin) Mouton of Princeton and Morgan Ketola of Brighton, MI; great-grandchildren, Ellorie, Luciene, Adelyne, Kessler and Tanner; and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a step-daughter, Linda Ketola.

Honoring Bernie’s wishes, graveside services will be held at a later date.
