Robert Eugene ‘Bob’ Pizziola
ISHPEMING,MI- Robert Eugene ‘Bob’ Pizziola, known to many as ‘Jumbo’ or ‘Jummy,’ age 74, passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, November 22, 2025 at his home.
Bob was born March 23, 1951 in Ishpeming to Oral and Ruth Marian (Roberts) Pizziola and attended Negaunee schools. He was a proud employee for Cleveland Cliffs, beginning his career at the Mather ‘B’ and eventually retiring from the Tilden Mine as a loader operator with 37 years of service.
Bob loved spending time at the family camp on the Dead River Basin; hot coffee in the mornings and scratching a lotto ticket, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, cutting firewood and keeping the sauna hot, and most importantly, being with his family. Following retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his sweetie, Leanne.
Surviving are his sweetie, Leanne; sons: Robert (Rachel) Pizziola of Marquette and Ryan (Sara) Pizziola of Ishpeming; grandchildren: Tony and Abby, and Jacob and Dennis; his brother, Glenn Pizziola of Ishpeming; sister, Gail (Randy) Kurin of South Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Tina Robak; nephew, Thomas Pizziola; niece, Heather Pizziola; and his beloved dog, Buddy.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Monday, December 1st at Marquette Hope Negaunee Mitchell Campus with memorial services beginning at 1:00 pm, Rev. Scott Harmon will officiate. A dessert reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery.
