Paul Jette

NEGAUNEE, MI – Paul A. ‘Jet Man’ Jette, 85, of 96 Croix Street, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 20, 2025.

Paul was born in Negaunee on December 28, 1939, the son of the late Eugene J. and Mary U. (DuBord) Jette. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, Paul began a 31-year career with the Upper Peninsula Power Company. He started as a general laborer, worked as a lineman, and retired as a lead electrician on January 1, 1995. Known for his dedication and hands-on skill, Paul’s work ethic and quiet reliability earned the respect of those who worked alongside him.

On December 14, 1984, Paul married Joanne Kinnunen. Together they shared 41 years of marriage and enjoyed two decades of wintering in Cape Canaveral, Florida during their retirement. Paul was an avid hunter and a proud member of the Riverside Club, American Legion Greenwood Post 114, Ishpeming VFW Post 4573, and the Negaunee ELKS Lodge 1116.

Paul is survived by his wife, Joanne E. (Kinnunen) Jette; two sons, Jeff (Brandy Almy) Jette of Ishpeming and Scott ‘Mooser’ (Nicole Woodard) Jette of Ishpeming; granddaughter, Allison Jette; and step-sons Michael (Kelly) Small of Iron Mountain and Darryl Small of Fond du Lac, WI. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Eugene Jette; and his sister, Joyce Koski.

Honoring Paul’s wishes, no public service will be held.

Paul’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to UP Home Health and Hospice-especially his nurse, Alyssa-for the compassion, care, and support given to Paul in his final months.
