Eugene Vadnais
PESHTIGO, WI-Eugene ‘Blackie’ Vadnais, 93, of Peshtigo, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Rennes Health Center West, in Peshtigo, Wisconsin.
He was born on November 15, 1931 in Republic, Michigan to the late Dolphus and Tynne (Maki) Vadnais. Eugene graduated from Republic High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy. He married the late Janet Jackola who preceded him in death in 2010. After getting out of the service, Eugene worked for LS&I Railroad as a foreman for more than 40 years. He enjoyed going to his camp in Republic and playing cards.
Eugene is survived by his children: Kevin (Michelle) Vadnais and Kelly (John) Tamkun; grandchildren: Kasey (Mark) Hagood and Lindsey (Jimmy) Ritt; great-grandchildren: Kingston, Hyatt, and Arlo; sister: Nancy (Bob) Kerkela; brother: Wayne (Sherry) Vadnais; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Eugene was preceded in death by his wife Janet; parents Dolphus and Tynne; son: Kurt Vadnais; and brothers: William and James Vadnais.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Rennes West for all of the care they gave to Eugene.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. Cadieu Funeral Home is assisting the Vadnais family with arrangements.
