Blake was born in Ishpeming to John ‘Jack’ and Dorothy ‘Joyce’ (Peterson) Williams. Blake attended Ishpeming High School with the Class of 1980. After high school he proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Hawaii aboard the USS Cimarron.

A true woodsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and camping, and was an avid deer hunter. He cherished quiet hours in the woods, and the stories shared with friends around a campfire.
