Patricia A. Liubakka
GWINN, MI-Patricia A. Liubakka, 87, of Gwinn, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025, at UP Health System-Marquette.
She was born October 10, 1938, in Marquette, a daughter of Edward and Muriel (Doidge) Lawry. She was raised in Marquette in the same house where her Dad was born. While attending Graveraet High School, Pat was a lifeguard at the Shiras pool and did an internship and worked as a court stenographer. She graduated in 1956. At 17 years of age she met the love of her life Art Liubakka at a roller rink in Marquette. They were married a year later on November 2.1956.
She worked on her family farm Green Acres Sheep Farm in Limestone Michigan; as a baker at Trenary Home Bakery; and later in the kitchen of Eben High School.
Patricia was a member of Hope Free Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ishpeming where she played the organ for years, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur T. Liubakka of Gwinn; by their children, Cindy (Paul) Kuczwara of Florida; Tom (Anita) Liubakka of Indiana; Patricia (Dan) Hinds of, Michigan; and Sherry Koch also of Michigan; by 9 grandchildren and several great- grandchildren; a brother, Ed Lawry of Minnesota; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Edward Liubakka.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11 a.m., at Calvary Free Lutheran Church in Eben with Rev. Steven Jensen officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service in the church. A luncheon will follow the service. Interment will take place in the Limestone Cemetery.
