Kenneth L. Hamilton

December 31, 1946 ­ September 10, 2025

TULSA, OK-Kenneth L. Hamilton, age 78, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, in Tulsa OK, surrounded by his loving family. Kenneth was a long-time resident of Gwinn, MI. He was a devoted husband, father, cherished grandfather, and proud great-grandfather.

Ken was born on December 31, 1946, in Princeton, Kansas, to Russell and Thelma Hamilton. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1964 and soon after enlisted in the United States Air Force. Ken proudly served his country from 1966 to 1974 and was a Vietnam Veteran. The Air Force brought him to Upper Michigan, where he met the love of his life Kathy, they were married on August 24, 1974, in Princeton, KS.

Ken enjoyed playing basketball, softball, and was an avid pool player. More than anything he found an immense amount of happiness spending time on the waters of Lake Michigan fishing. He loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports, always there offering support, guidance and of course his perspective.

Ken, along with his wife, owned and operated several businesses in Gwinn MI. Ken retired from Cleveland Cliffs Iron CO in 2005 after 30 years of dedicated service. He and Kathy moved to Florida to enjoy the warm weather after a well-deserved retirement.

Ken will be remembered for his devotion to his family, hard work and the love he shared with everyone around him.

Ken is survived by his wife Kathryn Hamilton; his three daughters; Angela Solomonson, Michelle Hamilton, Kendra (Scott) Goedert, stepson Michael Welburn; his 7 grandchildren; Zachery and Hunter Solomonson, Jace (Siya) and Elayna Hamilton, Bruce Smith, Jaiden Peterson, and Cole Goedert: and two great grandchildren; Bentley Solomonson, and Zaida Andrews; his 2 sisters Joyce Hahn, and Jeanie Stidham and several nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Thelma Hamilton.

Celebration of life will be held later in Lake Wales, FL.
