Terrell Scott Ostrander

MARQUETTE, MI-Terrell ‘Terry’ Ostrander, affectionately known as ‘Scott’ or ‘TO,’ passed away on September 23, 2025, at the age of 63, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. Born in Ely, Minnesota, to Judy (Deyak) and Terry Ostrander, Terry lived a life with a spark of humor, warmth, and a natural gift for connecting with people. Those qualities only deepened throughout his life, shaping him into a man who was devoted to his family and a loyal friend to so many.

He had a fabulous career as a Sales Manager with Timber Products, where his work was never just about business-it was about relationships. Whether with colleagues or customers, Terry’s generosity, kindness, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression. His smile could light up a room, and his big personality brought energy and laughter wherever he went. ‘I only know a little about wood’ was one of Terry’s favorite quotes.

Terry is survived by his parents, Judy and Terry; loving wife, Deb; children Erin (Mike) Snodgrass, Alex (Amy) Ostrander, Ryan (Felicia) Ostrander, and stepson Troy (Tiffany) Sergey; his cherished grandchildren Abigail (Zach) Reynolds, Zach and Brandon Pitts, Ethan and Tim Frost, Oliver Snodgrass, Chloe Cockrell, Sam, Olivia, Nora, and Ana Ostrander, as well as great-grandchildren Briar and Rory Reynolds.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Teresa Lee Ostrander, his granddaughter Samshel Snodgrass, father-in-law Richard Hinds and brother-in-law Mike Hinds.

He is also remembered with love by his sister Gail (Larry Schwochert) Ostrander, brother Jared (Dena) Ostrander, former in-laws Ann and Ron Reisner and their daughter Julianna Epperly, mother-in-law Jean Hinds, sister-in-law Chris and ‘bruder’ Steve Brettfeld, as well as many extended family members and close friends Chris Layton, Lou Kretzer, Randy Lambert, Scotty Cuddihy, Tom Hinds and Vince Rose.

Terry’s passions for cars, music, sports, hunting and fishing were only matched by his love for family. He will be remembered for his big heart, his courage, strength and the joy he brought to all who knew him.

A Celebration of Terry’s life will be held for family, friends and colleagues on October 12, 2025 at the Up North Lodge Event Center in Gwinn, Michigan from 3:00 -700 pm. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to the Trillium House in Marquette or planting a tree in Terry’s memory.
