Eric Dupras

Eric was born on August 30, 1967 to Alan and Jeanette (Beaudry) Dupras in Marquette, MI. He attended Marquette Public Schools, graduating in 1986. Following in his father’s footsteps he wanted to learn to weld and did so at the Jacobetti Center.

Eric was quiet and a little shy, but when you got to know him he had a sense of humor that made you laugh too. He met and married his soulmate, Carolyn Betz, and had 35 wonderful years together. They were best friends and partners in everyday life. They were always together – shopping, doing yard work, or going to camp in Ralph, MI on the weekends. Eric and Carolyn had one son, Nick Dupras, who was a carbon copy of his dad.

Eric was a homebody who liked to stay close to home, except for his Sturgis motorcycle trip to the Dakota’s with his dad. They both ‘loved’ their Harley’s. At the time of his passing he worked at A&L Metals, a job he enjoyed doing. Eric was always working on a car or truck for himself or friends and family. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. He never went by anyone broke down or stuck in the snow.

Eric looked forward to deer season at camp, planning his days off from work months in advance. He got to enjoy spending time with his grandson, Jackson, at hunting camp the last four years. He loved holidays and birthdays which always had to be at mom and dads. Eric was loving, supportive, caring and a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He gave his family everything they needed, and they are forever grateful for the life he shared with them. Eric touched the lives of many people he knew and met.

Eric is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Dupras; son, Nick Dupras; grandson, Jackson Dupras; brother, Todd Dupras; parents, Alan and Jeanette Dupras; two nephews, Brett and Jesse Dupras; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jack and Alice (Rosin) Dupras; and his maternal grandparents, Roy and Elaine (Coughlin) Beaudry.

In keeping Eric’s wishes, there will be private services.
