Dahli J. Bates

MARQUETTE, MI-Dahli J. Bates, 33, of Marquette, entered eternal life on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin after a lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis.

She was born September 15, 1991, in Marquette, a daughter of Daryl Bates and Linda Abbott. She was a 2009 graduate of Marquette Senior High School and a 2012 graduate of the NMU Cosmetology program.

In 2018, Dahli was blessed with the birth of her son, Jaizon. She cherished the special bond she shared with her beloved son and bestowed upon him unconditional, endless love.

Dahli was full of life and found beauty in everything while living every day to the fullest. She treated everyone with kindness, empathy and always provided selfless love, support and generosity to others. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her ability to light up any room with her larger-than-life aura, her radiant smile and contagious laughter. She loved spending time at camp, enjoyed being outdoors, four-wheeling, hiking and crafting.

She is survived by her son, Jaizon Goodman of Marquette; parents, Daryl Bates of Big Bay and Linda Abbott of Marquette; sister, Danielle (James) Sandstrom of Marquette; nephew and niece, Jameson and Alyssa Sandstrom of Marquette; grandparents, John (Eileen) Bates of Marquette; special uncles and aunts, Gardner (Carrie) Bess of Marquette, Mike (Gen) Bates of Big Bay and Kristi Abbott of Nashua, NH; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and her beloved dog, Zeke.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Geraldine Bess and Wilford Abbott.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 12 to 2 pm at St. Christopher Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 pm with Rev. Dan Moll officiating. A funeral lunch will follow the Mass in the church hall. Interment will take place in Powell Township Cemetery.
