Ann ‘Louise’ Jackson

MARQUETTE, MI-Ann L. ‘Louise’ Jackson, age 93, of Marquette, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at U.P. Health System Marquette.
Louise was born on March 8, 1932, in Marquette, to Ernest and Florence (McRavey) Wittler. A lifelong resident of the area, she worked in food service at Northern Michigan University until her retirement in 1986.
Louise was known for her love of walking and could often be seen strolling through neighborhoods and trails all around Marquette. She also enjoyed staying active through exercise and water aerobics.
Louise was social, friendly, and always positive. She was also a beloved member of the ‘Over the Hill Gang’, taking great joy in their regular get-togethers.
Louise is survived by her two daughters, Jean (Jeff Endress) Baldwin and Ellen Balbierz; two grandchildren, Jake (Ashley) Baldwin and Julie (Chris) Feltner; two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Cara Giorgianni; as well as many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Florence Wittler; her first husband, Frank Balbierz; her second husband, William Jackson; and her partner, Julius ‘Joe’ DeFalico.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Canale-Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Taylor officiating. A light lunch will immediately follow the service.
