Trevor Forsythe

MARQUETTE, MI-Trevor Forsythe of Dryden, Michigan passed away from complications of diabetes on Thursday August 21, 2025.

He was born on September 21, 2003, the only child of Lori and Derek Forsythe. Trevor graduated from Almont High School in 2021. He was very involved in Scouting serving in both Troop 128 of Almont and Mackinac Island Scout Service Troop 127 of Lapeer. He completed a trek at Philmont Scout Ranch and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 2021. Trevor was a ‘people person’ and could get along with anyone. He could find the good in any situation and had a talent for getting diverse group members to get along.

His love for the outdoors drew him to Northern Michigan University where he was on track to complete a bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Production. A Stephen A. Marks Foundation Award recipient, Trevor was currently working as Broadcast Director and Photojournalist for WZMQ 19 in Marquette. He loved photography, was extremely creative in many art forms and had a diverse musical taste. At the time of his passing, Trevor was living in a place he loved, doing work that he loved and was in love with a special person. We take comfort in knowing that he was able to have all these blessings at the same time within such a short time on earth.

Trevor was preceded in death by grandparents Grace and Chris Makaroff and Uncle Keith Makaroff.

He is survived by his girlfriend Hanna Bigelow, whom he was in love with and was very excited for the future. Also surviving him are his parents and his beloved dog Hana, as well as grandparents Lenna and Richard Forsythe, Aunts and Uncles Cindy and John Winter, Patricia and Christopher Makaroff, Rebecca and Mike Winter, Sue and Troy Hansen, Lynn and Jim Corbeil, Debbie and Pete Winter, Jean Makaroff and many cousins.

His parents are planning a memorial celebration of Trevor’s life for the near future. Trevor was interested in giving back to the community so a charitable fund will be created in his memory. Details of that fund will be shared as they develop and contributions in his memory would be appreciated.
