Stanley J. Carlyon

He was born at home in Negaunee, MI on May 4, 1937, the eldest of 4 sons of the late Edward Wesley and Domenica (Torreano) Carlyon. He was a graduate of St. Paul High School in Negaunee and worked at various foundries in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Surviving are his sisters-in-law Edith Carlyon and Susan Carlyon, 4 nieces, 2 nephews and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Neil, Robert and Keith, and his sister-in-law Maureen.

Stanley had many varied interests starting with hunting and fishing as a child, flying lessons at age 18 and later owning his own planes, driving fast cars, and riding his motorcycle well into his later years. He was a nice, well-liked man and very interesting once you were able to get past his reserved nature and have him talk about the many subjects he was well-read in or had experienced first-hand.

Stanley loved his family and would often visit his brothers in Michigan and Nevada. He also enjoyed spending time back home in the UP to boat, fish and hunt with friends and family including his childhood friend, Steve.

A short graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Carlyon family plot in the Negaunee Cemetery.
