Grace Ann Kilgren

Born November 12, 1953, she was the daughter of Richard and Vivian (Cherette) Leischow and was raised in Sault Ste. Marie. A graduate of Sault Ste. Marie High School, Class of 1971, Grace began her working career as an operator for Michigan Bell Telephone. On December 11, 1976, she married Russell Kilgren, and the couple made their home in Sault Ste. Marie for eight years, raising their two boys before moving to Marquette. Grace began working at the Mining Journal, where she later retired as classified manager.

Grace and Russell enjoyed camping together and, above all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and family.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Russell; two sons, Ryan Kilgren of Marquette and Todd (Kristi) Kilgren of Marquette; four grandchildren, Seth, Jack, Aili Kilgren, and Miles Kilgren; five siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Linda Watson.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Trillium House.
