Margaret ‘Margie’ Marszaleck Kloka

MARQUETTE, MI- Margaret ‘Margie’ Marszaleck Kloka, 93, of Marquette passed away on Saturday morning, June 28, 2025 surrounded by her family at U.P. Health System- Marquette.
Margie was born on June 18, 1931 in Detroit, MI to Albert and Susie (Minarchick) Marszaleck. She attended St. John Berchman’s Grade School and graduated from St. Ambrose High School in Grosse Pte., MI in 1949. She was a choir member at both schools and a Junior Guild Volunteer at Bon Secours Hospital in Gross Pte. In 1952, she graduated from Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital School of Nursing as a RN in Detroit.
Margie married Anthony J. Kloka on August 7, 1954 at St. Matthew’s Church in Detroit.
Margie worked at St. John Hospital in Detroit and Huron Road Hospital in East Cleveland, OH. Nursing was Margie’s chosen vocation. She also worked with her husband for 25 years in his podiatry practice. Although she loved nursing, her greatest love was her husband and family.

She taught Religious ED at Queen of Peace Parish in Harper Woods, MI for five years and was also a member of their altar society. Margie moved to Marquette in 1974 and was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish where she was a member of the altar society, choir and taught Religious ED for five years. She then was a member of St. Christopher Parish where she was a member of the altar society, choir, Eucharistic Minister and Religious ED teacher for 17 years.
Margie is survived by her daughters, Katherine Kloka and Ann (Alan) Mathew’s; grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Margaret and David Mathews and Zachary and Sarah DeForge; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Anthony Monzack and Haley and Xavier Mathews; and sisters, MaryAnn (Harvey) Simon and Suzanne (Walter) Grimminger. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Anthony Kloka; brothers, Joseph and Stanley; and sisters, Dorothy, Stella and Delores (George).
Margie’s family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 2, beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher Parish. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dan Moll officiating. A luncheon will follow the mass. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
