Kenneth LaCosse

ISHPEMING, MI-Kenneth ‘Ken’ LaCosse, age 62, formerly of Forest Lake, MI, passed away at his home, Tuesday July 15, 2025.
Born and raised with five sisters, Ken graduated from Eben High School in 1981 and proudly served in the U.S. Navy for three years. After returning home, he worked at Denman’s Hardware in Munising before spending many years at Trenary Toast working as a baker. In 1987, he married Joyce Beauchaine, and welcomed a son, Ken.
Kenneth moved to Ishpeming in 2015 to be closer to his son and grandchildren. Most recently, he worked at Cafe Bodega in Marquette. Known for his passion for the outdoors, Ken was a dedicated fisherman, snowmobiler, and ATV rider. A natural tinkerer, he was lovingly recognized as the man who had a tool for everything. His friends and family describe him as ‘determined’.
He was a devoted son and caretaker to his mother, Alice, and took great joy in watching his grandchildren grow.
Ken is survived by his son, Ken LaCosse of Republic; mother, Alice of Ishpeming; grandchildren, Elli, Sarah, and Emylia; and sisters Debbie (Dan) Leveque, Doreen (Joe) Sidlauskas, Carrie (Gary) Zinda, and Kim (Dale) Novak.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Diana LaCosse.
