Minnie Plankey

ISHPEMING, MI ­ Minnie Jane Plankey, age 82, of Cooper Lake Road, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Minnie was born on September 6, 1942, in Humboldt Township, Michigan, to the late Harry and Ida (Snell) Rolstone. She attended Champion School and remained a lifelong resident of the area she loved.

Over the years, Minnie worked as a store clerk at Koski Korners and as a bartender at the Greenwood American Legion Post 114, where she formed lasting friendships and touched many lives. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures-playing cards, participating in the senior cribbage league, BINGO, and spending time with her family, she especially looked forward to her monthly luncheons with your sisters.

Minnie is survived by her children: Gregory (Sarah) Maki, Dale Maki, Lisa (Dennis) Tonge and Raymond (Kristi) Maki; siblings: Sharon Currie, Gail (Russ) Warner, Betty Grund, Susan (Tom) Houseman, and Jeff (Lisa) Rolstone; a sister-in-law, Mary (Marvin) Joki, her grandchildren, Alycea, Glenn , Mathew, Zack, Preston, Shelby, Haylee, Ryan, Jenna and Leah and her beautiful great grandchild, Leon and many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, George Raymond Maki and John Raymond Plankey; sisters, Christine Prodell and Mary Nelson; and brothers, Jim Rolstone and Fred Rolstone.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, June 16th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming. A time of sharing memories will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a luncheon at the Ishpeming V.F.W. Post #4573. Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to UP Home Health and Hospice, and to all who lovingly cared for Minnie, especially her family.
