Marilyn Rintamaki

ISHPEMING, MI- Our dear wife, mother and grandmother, Marilyn A. (Huotari) Rintamaki, a lifelong area resident, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at her home.

Marilyn was born in Humboldt, MI to the late Toivo and Helen Huotari on December 22, 1936. She attended Champion Schools, graduating in 1954. On September 4, 1954 she was united in marriage with Daniel Rintamaki. They made their home together in the Green Creek location for over seventy years. Marilyn was a member of the Laestadian Lutheran Church.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Daniel and their children: Cheryl, Ishpeming, MI; Cathleen (Ken) Siljander, Loreto, MN; Corinne (Gene) Fredrickson, Buffalo, MN; Edward (Angela), Alamo, ND; Matthew (Sarah), Kalispell, MT; Lois (Steven) Laiho, Williston, ND; Peter, Boise, ID; Aleta (Mark) Honkala, Ishpeming, MI; Matha (Eric) Rousu, Cave Creek, AZ; Eva (Darren) Moll, Ishpeming, MI; Timothy, Appleton, WI; Brett (Marita) Cave Creek, AZ; daughter-in-law, Lorna, Ishpeming, MI; 110 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by brothers, Lloyd (Vivian), Wendell (Virginia), and Kenneth, sister, Jean Wikman, and sister-in-law, Arlene Huotari as well as a host of brothers and sisters in faith.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Carl and Curtis, grandson, Patrick Laiho, great-granddaughter, Vera Koivisto, and great-great-granddaughter- Laura Swan.

Marilyn’s family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon on Saturday June 28, 2025 at the Ishpeming Laestadian Lutheran Church, 567 Washington St. Ishpeming, MI. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon with Steven Laiho officiating. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her sons, Edward, Matthew, Peter, Timothy, and Brett, and her son-in-law Darren Moll.
