Linda Lu (Taylor) Young

LITTLE LAKE, MI – Linda Lu (Taylor) Young, age 80, of Little Lake, passed away on June 13, 2025, at Norlite Nursing Center in Marquette, Michigan, surrounded by her family.

Linda was born on April 11, 1945, in Marquette, the daughter of George and Violet (Libby) Taylor. Linda was raised in Marquette and graduated from Graveraet High School with the Class of 1963. After high school, she briefly attended Northern Michigan University before beginning work at Angeli’s Grocery Store. It was there she met her future husband, Brett Young. The two were married on October 14, 1967, and together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family. They raised their children in Skandia and later moved to Little Lake in 2005.

Throughout her life, Linda held various jobs where she formed many close and lasting friendships. In addition to her work outside the home, she was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming space for her family.

Linda had a deep love for reading and treasured her time spent on the lake. She especially looked forward to her annual gatherings with her dear friends, Sharon, Sandy, Kathie, and Janet, a tradition filled with laughter, stories, and joy. Known for her sass, sense of humor, and fierce love, Linda left a lasting impression on everyone who had the good fortune to know her.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Brett Young; her children, Mark (Lori) Young of Marquette and Jennifer (Brett) Beaumier of Tomahawk, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Tyler Young and Travis Young, both of Marquette, Lane (Rachel Wiseman) Beaumier of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and Brynn (Kyle Pflug) Beaumier of Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

Linda is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Douglas (Claire) Young, Ward (Sharon) Young, Scott (Sue) Young, Kurt Young, Dirk (Laurie) Young, Rock (Kathy) Young, and Mike (Kim) Young; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Bob) Heidrich and Mary Heidel; and by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Dale Smith and Bill Taylor; her in-laws, Sully and Marie Young; brothers-in-law, Rob Young, Jim White, and Doug Heidel; and sister-in-law, Debbie Young.

Visitation will take place from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on August 8, 2025 at Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Services will be held at 12:00 pm with Pastor Chad Mager officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the funeral home reception room.
