LaVerne ‘Dolly’ Ellersick

Beloved wife of the late Richard Ellersick who died in 1982. Loving mom of Deanna (Randy) Squires. Dear Grandma Dolly of Kayla (fiance John Zeffer) Squires and Brian (Kattie) Squires. Dear great-grandma of Jason and Kaylie Woida and Gavin Squires. Adored sister of Donald (the late Judy) Trudell Sr.

Preceded in death by her parents Adrian and Anna Trudell and siblings Louis (the late Carol) Trudell and Vernon Trudell. Dolly is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

LaVerne was born at home in Ishpeming, Michigan. She was born premature and was lovingly given the nickname Dolly by her father. She attended Ishpeming High School. At the age of 16 Dolly was married to the love of her life, Richard Ellersick. Shortly after, they moved to Milwaukee and began work at H.O. Bostrom. When her daughter Deanna was born, Dolly stayed home to raise her. Sadly in 1982 Richard died after a short illness. Widowed at the age of 47, Dolly went back to work full time eventually retiring from Marquette University in 2000.

Throughout her life Dolly enjoyed playing cards with her friends. She loved road trips with nieces and nephews. Along with her husband Richard, Dolly enjoyed camping with family. Dolly especially loved going back to visit family in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. There she would spend hours giggling with her sister-in-law Judy. She was grateful for the hospitality of her brother Donald and his children, her niece Diane (John) Neuman and Don Trudell Jr. Dolly will be fondly remembered for being small but mighty. She was a wonderful conversationalist and loved spending time with her friends.
