Donald Pynnonen

MARINETTE, MI-On May 27, 2025, Donnie passed away at his home surrounded by his loving wife, family and pastor.
He was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on January 11, 1962. He attended Negaunee High School where he was a major contributor to his teammates as a basketball player a starting forward, #22 at home, and #23 away. Donnie enjoyed fastpitch, and was a pitcher for the Roosevelt Bar.
In 1981, he went to work for the Babco Company in Negaunee, and was later transferred to Menominee where he continued as a warehouse worker. He was then promoted to sales for pipe, valves and fittings. Even though Columbia Pipe had several names prior, Donnie stayed at his same desk for 40+ years. Donnie was a hardworking and dedicated employee. He loved his customers, and would do anything for them. He used his knowledge and time to try to make sure his customers were successful.
Donnie is survived by his loving wife Dyanne; step-sons and daughters-in-law, Rob and Amanda and Nicholas and Kala; dedicated grandchildren, Brett, Alex, Devon, Dakota, Charlee and Reagan; his loving sisters, Donna (Glenn) VanStraten and Carol (Stephen) Luoma; many nieces, nephews and cousins; a godchild and many, many dedicated friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother Taito and Mary Pynnonen; his brother, David Pynnonen; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Donna Diesburg; brothers-in-law, Mike Johnson, Veta Nault and Mike VanStraten.
Donnie was known for his big heart and giving nature. He was a very good friend with an uncanny sense of humor, and a work ethic second to none. A man of principles with his dealings certainly will be missed and remembered.
Graveside services will be held at 12 noon (Central Time) on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Forest Home Cemetery, 2420 Mary St., Marinette, WI.
The family would like to thank Unity Hospice for their kindness and compassion, and Pastor Eisenbeis for his healing and comforting words and prayers.
Donnie wants to say to his family and friends, ‘I said, Go Lions!’
