Jerald ‘Jerry’ Hager

Jerry was born on December 13, 1952, in Marquette, Michigan, to the late Carl and Ruth (Carlson) Hager. He was a graduate of Ishpeming High School, class of 1971. He spent his life in the Upper Peninsula, deeply connected to the community he loved.

He dedicated his career to Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company, where he worked as a lab technician. After many years of hard work, Jerry retired from the Empire Mine in 2002.

An active and adventurous spirit, Jerry enjoyed a wide range of hobbies. He was passionate about downhill skiing, biking, swimming, scuba diving, and bird hunting. His love for the outdoors and active living defined much of his life and brought him great joy.

Jerry was a faithful member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Ishpeming and found strength and community through his faith.

Jerry is survived by a special cousin Kay Skytta and a number of special friends.
