Evert Weinhold

Evert was born on January 26, 1945 in Dorrance, KS, to George and Dorothy (Cooper) Weinhold. He graduated from high school in Dorrance, KS.

Evert worked for Beech Aircraft Company and for Cessna Aircraft Company in Wichita, KS, first as a tool and die maker and later as a machinist. While at Cessna, Evert assisted with the introduction of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) manufacturing there. In the years following, Evert worked in senior CNC roles for various other manufacturers along the way. He retired from General Electric Aircraft Engine Division in Evendale, OH.

In 2019, Evert relocated to Gwinn, MI to be near family and grandchildren, and he loved being in the U.P. and exploring it with them. Evert enjoyed 3-D printing, RC model airplanes, working on cars, and including the grandchildren in all of these activities. He also liked to cook and was fond of finding new recipes to try. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and took a special interest in the Children’s Bible Club there.

Evert is survived by his children, Randy (Rochelle) Weinhold of Gwinn and Lisa (Troy) Frazier of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Timothy Weinhold, Matthew (Aubrey) Weinhold, Emily Weinhold, Mikayla Weinhold, Andrew Weinhold, Luke Weinhold, Alyssa Weinhold, Jonathan Weinhold, Daniel Weinhold and Joshua Weinhold, all of Gwinn; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Mary, Caleb, Eva and Joseph; siblings, Georgia Moser, Peary (Laura) Weinhold and Cindy Bear; nieces, Donna and Carmen; nephews, Adam and Peary Jr.; and former wife, Wilma Weinhold.

Evert was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy Weinhold.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Canale Gwinn Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Darin Kelsey officiating. A luncheon will follow. Interment will be in the Gwinn Cemetery. (Times are Eastern Daylight Time.)
