Cheryl Lahti

ISHPEMING, MI-Cheryl Sue (Vienola) Lahti, known as Susie by most, 66, passed away at her home in Ishpeming on May 19, 2025.
Susie was born September 7, 1958 in Negaunee to Leslie Vienola and Viola (Rice) Raihala. She married young in life and had two daughters. She worked at Togos, Simmons Airport and the Coachlight restaurant. She loved to cook and was known for her excellent pasties. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, swimming and blueberry picking. She’ll be remembered by friends for her laughter and her storytelling. Her sister recalls her always singing to the radio while doing the dishes and taking them on adventures to Noren Lake. Her daughters will remember her as carefree. They spent time fishing on Sweitzers Reservoir and riding around in the Pontiac Catalina. Susie lived in the moment and loved others in her own way. She had many people that loved and cared about her.
Surviving are her two daughters, Susan (Jason) Snider of Boyne City and Erin (Jeff) Sprenkle of Baraga. Her grandchildren: Mari Snider, Fisher Lahti-Vidlund, Mason and Parker Sprenkle. Her siblings: Daryl Vienola of Kelso, WA; Frank (Penny) Raihala of Johnstown, OH; James Raihala of Madison, WI; Teresa Fikejs of South Elgin, IL; and her great friend, William Hyttinen.
Honoring Susie’s wishes, no public services will be held. Her memorial page may be viewed at koskeyfuneralhome.com.
