MARQUETTE, MI-Ann Margaret Patterson, age 89, died May 3, 2025, at Mill Creek Assisted Living Facility under the care of the loving staff there, and Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice.

Ann was born October 15, 1935 in Wandsworth, Greater London, England, the only child of Arthur and Patricia Hosford. She and her family lived through World War II, and survived the Blitz on London. She was a window dresser in the West End of London, and immigrated to the United States in 1958, arriving in New York City on the passenger ship Italia. She settled in Lansing, Michigan where she met and married Franklin R. Patterson on July 11, 1959. They were married for 52 years until his death on November 30, 2011.

Ann earned her nursing degree from Northern Michigan University, and worked for many years

at Marquette General Hospital. She valued her role as an Emergency Room nurse, and as a nurse training doctors at the Family Medicine Residency Program. Many patients would tell her how they appreciated her care years later.

Ann was a Master Gardener and took pride in her beautiful gardens. She volunteered for the Marquette Beautification Committee, was part of the Chocolay Gardeners Club, and also the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
