Lolita “Rosebud” Barry

ISHPEMING, MI-Lolita “Rosebud” Barry, age 84, lifelong area resident, passed away on Sunday February 2, 2025 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the loving care of her family, and nursing home staff.

Rosebud was born on August 30, 1940 in Champion, MI, daughter of the late Robert I. and Jean K. Pascoe. She grew up in Champion and graduated from Champion High School. After graduation she married James Barry and moved to North Lake where she raised her family. She worked as a teacher for over 30 years for several local school districts.

Rosebud was instrumental in many facets and organizations in her community, with her passion being ski patrol/first aid at Marquette Mountain. She loved to travel, with periodic trips to visit her grandchildren in Georgia, California, and Hawaii.

Rosebud is survived by 3 children- Kelli Jenkin of Carlsbad, CA, Pinky (Kristi) Barry of Champion, Kathleen (Brian) Taylor of Canton, GA, 2 brothers- Roy (Mary) Pascoe of Champion, Robert “Butsy” (Sheila) Pascoe of L’Anse, brother-in-law- Lawrence (Judy) Barry Jr. of Ishpeming, best friend- Genevieve Nap of Negaunee, 9 grandchildren- Erik, Austin, and Evan Jenkin of California, Kyle (Lauren) Barry of Colorado Springs, CO, Spencer (Holly) Barry of Ishpeming, Alyssa Syrjala of Indio, CA, Whitney (Kaleb) Rundman of Ishpeming, Tia Couveau of Marquette, Amanda (Danny) Smith of Mississippi, 10 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- James Barry Sr., son- James Barry Jr., sister- Virginia Jimmerson, and son-in-law- Bruce Jenkin.

Rosebud’s family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00am until 12:00pm on Thursday February 6, 2025 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00pm with Fr. Christian Flagstadt celebrating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.

Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens in the spring.
