Marsha Fraser
ISHPEMING, MI- Marsha B. Fraser, age 73, of 100 S. Daisy St., Ishpeming Twp., passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at UP Health System Marquette where she had been a patient for the past week.
Marsha was born in Sault Ste Marie, MI on June 18, 1951. Marsha moved to Ishpeming in 1965 and was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1969. She married the late Rich Fraser on March 20, 1971, and together they raised two children whom she was very proud of. Along with those children, she considered the kids at the N.I.C.E. Community Schools as her own and worked for nearly 40 years as a teacher’s aide within the district.
Marsha had served on the Ishpeming Twp. recreation committee and the election board. She cherished time spent following her grandchildren’s events and activities and was an avid sports fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers.
Marsha is survived by her children – Rich (Valerie) Fraser and Julie (Mark) Olson both of Ishpeming, 4 grandchildren – Lydia & Darren Fraser, Jacob & Makenna Olson, three sisters, Elaine Anderson, Tammi (fiance Warren Devore) Daily and Janet Jones, brother Fred VanLuven, sister-in-law, Jo Ann Fraser, brother-in-law Dean Carlson along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Ella Alderton, her husband, Rich Fraser, daughter-in-law, Susan Fraser, sisters, Penny Carlson, Patti Nickerson and Sandy LeClair, brothers, Mike and Barry Alderton, brothers-in-law, Steven Anderson and Mike Fraser and a niece Angie Nickerson.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 12:00 – 2:00pm on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 2:00pm with the Rev. D. Michael Carriere officiating. A luncheon will follow the services at the Ishpeming Twp. Hall. Marsha’s service will be livestreamed at facebook.com/bjorkandzhulkie
