Laurie Marie Carlson

Laurie was born April 25, 1965 in Ishpeming to Allen and Karen (Pepin) Basto and graduated from Westwood High School, Class of 1983.

Following high school, her sense of adventure lead to a move to Chicago where was a nanny for many years. Later, she became a flight attendant in the Keweenaw. After getting married to her late ex-husband Mark Carlson, Laurie became a stay at home mom to her two children Haley and Nicholas. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed going on adventures with her daughter, spending time with her two grandchildren and eating lavish types of food. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her daughter, Haley (Patrick) Courteau of North St. Paul, MN; son, Nicholas Carlson of Woodbury, MN; two grandsons: Louis and Archer Courteau; brother, Richard Basto of Pennsylvania; and sister, Lisa Basto of Negaunee.

Honoring Laurie’s wishes, a private family celebration will be held.
