Jeanne M. Roidl
MARQUETTE, MI – Jeanne Marie Roidl, age 77, of Marquette, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at her home.
Jeanne was born on October 27, 1947, in Princeton, New Jersey, a daughter of Charles F. and Dorothea J. (Hogan) Weigel. As a young child, she moved with her family to Marquette, where she grew up on Rock Street. Jeanne graduated from Bishop Baraga High School in 1966. Known for her agility and adventurous spirit, Jeanne was an avid rollerskater in her youth.
Jeanne married Skip Reynolds and had two children, Lori and Jerry. She was a mother who was always supportive and attentive to the care of her children and their activities. She later remarried Tim Roidl, and together the couple adopted and lovingly raised three sons, George, Joshua, and J.J. The family remained on Rock Street, where countless cherished memories were made.
A hardworking and dedicated employee, Jeanne worked as an administrative assistant/bookkeeper for Carroll Motor Supply, later Carquest Auto Parts, for an impressive 50 years. After retiring from Carquest, Jeanne began a second career with Walmart, where she first worked in the clothing department before becoming a clerk/cashier, a role she held until her passing. She made many friends and enjoyed interacting with customers many of whom she’s known for years.
Balancing work and family, Jeanne was known for her commitment to having supper on the table at 5:00 pm sharp each day! She also cared for her mother for several years until her mother’s passing. She was both generous and giving with her time and talent, someone you could always count on to help out.
Jeanne found joy in bowling, flower gardening, and creating delicious family meals. Her talents at cooking brought her family together, creating traditions and lasting memories.
