Michigan State University provided the appetizers of a BA and MA in English. Northern Michigan University furnished the dessert where I taught technical writing as adjunct faculty in the English Department. Some of the adventures included the Michigan Supreme Court, proofreading and editing the Justice’s opinions; Montcalm Community College, creating and teaching interdisciplinary courses for a new community college; Lansing Community College, teaching composition; the Michigan Department of Commerce, personal admin for then director, Larry Meyer; and the Michigan Department of Corrections, supervising the records office and coordinating transfers and litigation at Brooks Correctional Facility in Muskegon.

My lifelong celebration was well attended by daughter, Lynne Goretzka of New York City, chosen son, Russell Pline, wife Vicki and grandson, Hayden Pline. Others who joined me on my adventures and provided endless tasty treats were members of the 1952 graduating class of East Grand Rapids High School and the cribbage gang at the Marquette Senior Center Thursday cribbage league. The outcome of Michigan State University basketball games was analyzed and discussed with Germaine Hillmer in the last two minutes of every game. Dear friends, Deb Smith and husband Bob Serfas, and Kevin Crupi celebrated adventures, provided many treats, and kept me company to the end.
