Ann Illikainen

Ann was born November 1, 1950 in Marinette, Wisconsin to Toivo and Adeline (Sanftheil) Leinonen and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1969.

Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who spent her life caring for and loving her family. In her later years, she was employed by MFC Bank in Marquette and Walmart.

Mrs. Illikainen was a member of Ishpeming Laestadian Lutheran Church. In her free time, she enjoyed time spent with family and working puzzles.

Surviving are her children: John (Diane), James (Christina Tackett), Jacob (Lisa), Joseph, Jason, Karen, Kristine, Robert, Katie (Justin) Hammond, Kathleen, Ronald (Jamie) and Kelly (Karl) Usitalo; grandchildren: Eliisa, James (Eli), Eric, Johnny, David (Melissa), Courtney, Lindsey, Ben, Amanda, Paelynn, Jordan, William, Henry, Fredrik, Lilly and Karson; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Alrick Leinonen; and sister, Evelyn (Keith) DeLongchamp; sisters-in-law: Julia Linna, Judy Illikainen, Annu Illikainen and Arlene Tousignant; and numerous nieces, nephews and many precious brothers and sisters in faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry Illikainen in 2019; sister, Lillian Leinonen; and brother-in-law, Robert Illikainen.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Ishpeming Laestadian Lutheran Church with Mike Kuopus officiating. Burial will take place in Negaunee Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends for two hours prior to services at the church on Tuesday, and also at a luncheon immediately following the service. Ann’s sons and grandsons, Henry and Fredrik, will serve as pallbearers.
