Sueann Wikstrom

BEAVER GROVE, MI – Sueann Wikstrom, age 76, of Beaver Grove, entered eternal life Friday, September 20, 2024, at UP Health System-Marquette, surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 29, 1947, the daughter of Edward and Gladys (Bush) Thayer of Allegan, Michigan.
She married Erik Wikstrom in August of 1965, and together raised three children in their lifelong Beaver Grove home.
Survivors include her daughter Samantha S. (David Manhead) Wikstrom of Beaver Grove, her son Erik H. (Phyllis) Wikstrom of Gwinn, MI; grandchildren Ashley (Ben) Grossoehme of Skandia, Jonathan (Melissa) Wikstrom of Beaver Grove, Leonard (Paige Fisk) Wikstrom of Champion, David (Kayla) Wikstrom of Perkins, Embers (Matt Jewell) Wikstrom of Sands Township, Grace (Conner Strand) of Beaver Grove, Erik C. Wikstrom of Gwinn, and Carl Edwards Wikstrom Jr; special cousin Mark Wessman of Green Garden; a sister-in-law Betty Shaw of Marquette; many great-grandchildren; and lots of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her hobbies and special interests included collecting unique cookie jars and owls. Everything she made was made with love. She added a splash of color to our kitchen towels by drawing on them and she loved to color with the grandchildren.
In her early years she earned medals for swimming, medals that aren’t simply for looks. Every night she would put new fingernail polish on her nails and put on lipstick. Her love for all children and grandchildren will never fade away. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she would bake, cook, and make us all peanut brittle. She loved going to town with her husband who would say to her its an adventure trip.
A rainbow stairway to heaven did show above the hospital when it was her time to go spreading her love and light across the sky for all to see. Husband Erik, Uncle Carl and Sueann met her at the top as she gained her wings and of her storms and burdens she was set free.
A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2025.
