Sharon Guidebeck

Sharon was born February 14, 1938 in Ishpeming to Earl and Caroline (Grevious) Stephens and graduated from Ishpeming High School, Class of 1956. Following graduation, she was employed at the candy counter at Woolworth’s Store in Ishpeming.

Sharon met the love of her life, Thomas Guidebeck, Jr., when he came to her rescue and fixed her flat tire. They were united in marriage and raised their family together in Negaunee.

Mrs. Guidebeck was a devout member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Negaunee where she belonged to the quilting group and Bible study circle. She was witty, spunky, enjoyed aqua-aerobics with her sisters and loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her daughters: Patricia (Joe) Thomas of Ishpeming and Cynthia (Michael Jensen) Weissmann of McFarland; sons: Gregory (Laurie) of Ishpeming and Jim (Laurie) of Michigamme; sisters: Carol Johnson of Negaunee and Bonnie Stine of Dayton, OH; brother, Thomas Stephens of Dayton, OH; her grandchildren: Carissa, Justin, Daniel, Cory, Courtney, Thomas, Amanda, Derek, Joey, Amber, Justice, Erica and Jordan; along with several beloved great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 am on Monday, October 14th at Bethany Lutheran Church in Negaunee. Memorial service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Lloyd Luedeman officiating. Lunch will follow in the church hall. Interment will be in the Negaunee Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Sharon’s memory to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

Mrs. Guidebeck’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the MCMCF staff for their loving care provided.
