Carl Rose
MARQUETTE, MI-Carl A. Rose, age 78, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, in Marquette at the Trillium House, under the care of his loving family and Lake Superior Hospice.
Born on September 6, 1946 in Escanaba to Leslie B. and Una Mae (Johnson) Rose. Carl’s infectious zeal for life and kind-hearted nature touched all who knew him.
He was raised in Escanaba and graduated from Escanaba High School class of 1964. He continued his education at Bay de Noc Community College before transferring to Eastern Michigan University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business. Carl briefly started his career as a teacher at St. Francis de Sales in Manistique but soon found his calling with Eli Lilly Company, an American multinational pharmaceutical company headquartered in Indianapolis, IN as a pharmaceutical representative. During his remarkable 28-year tenure, Carl distinguished himself as one of the company’s top salesmen nationwide, earning him a reputation for excellence and the respect of his peers.
Upon retiring, in his free time Carl enjoyed his passion for the great outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman, residing on Au Train Lake near Munising.
He is survived by his two children, Casey (Leslie) Rose and Carrie (Dan) Audette, both of Marquette; his six grandchildren: Cody DesJardins, Kyle Rose, McKenzie (Jack) Eyler, Riley DesJardins, Logan Audette, and Brady Audette. He also leaves behind his brother, Dr. Eric (Kate) Rose of Marquette, and his former wife, Valerie Rose of Gwinn.
Carl is predeceased by his parents, his two brothers, Gregory and Dr. A. Leslie Rose, and his sister, Diane Rose-Canali.
His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Joseph Steele for his compassionate care, Lake Superior Hospice and acknowledges the support and comfort provided by Trillium House during Carl’s final days.
Friends and family may call at the Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral & Cremation Services on Saturday October 19, with a greeting time from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm.
