William Scott Quayle

ISHPEMING, MI- William Scott “Squally” Quayle, age 67, lifelong Ishpeming resident, passed away on Tuesday September 3, 2024 at UP Health System Marquette, while in the loving care of his family, and hospital staff.

Scott was born in Ishpeming on April 30, 1957, son of the late William L. and Edna (Hooper) Quayle. Scott was a graduate of Ishpeming High School, class of 1976. He worked at Metso for 38 years and was planning to retire in the near future.

Scott was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming, he loved his dogs, and enjoyed going hunting.

Scott is survived by his wife of 19 years- Linda (Maki) Quayle, a special niece- Sarah Quayle, honorary nieces and nephew- Hope, Amelia, Adeline, Moira, Jolene, and Nolan, all who had a special place in Scott’s big kind heart, with many cherished memories that included Scott even being crowned Princess by them, and also Captain Crandon. He is further survived by his special neighbors John and Emma who held a special place in his heart.

Scott’s family would like to extend a special thank you to neighbors Justin and Jayme for all of their help they gave to Scott over the years.

Following Scott’s wishes, cremation will take place with a private memorial service to celebrate his life.
