Sue Wickstrom

Sue was born May 26, 1958 in Ishpeming to Arnold Walter and Charlotte Beverly (Heikkinen) Helander and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1976. She married Michael Wickstrom June 29, 1991 in Palmer, where they raised their two daughters.

Sue was a member of Community Lutheran Church, Suomi Location and the Richmond Township Community Club. She loved to play BINGO, bush riding with her husband, playing computer games, watching TV, especially Law & Order (dun dun dun!), petting her cat, Oreo, and being with her dogs, Daisy and Katie.

Sue was blessed with two beloved grandchildren, Zavier Michael and Zahonna Diane Goodman. Also surviving are her husband, Mike; daughters, Holly Marie Helander of Palmer and Whitney Diane Wickstrom; siblings: Christine LaFave, David (Kathy) Helander and Gary Helander, all of Palmer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Patty (Gary) Kangas; brother-in-law, Robert ‘Beano’ LaFave; and sister-in-law, Joanne Helander.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 13th at Community Lutheran Church, Suomi Location with Virginia Paulson officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday, and also at a luncheon at the Richmond Township Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to UPAWS.
