Stephen Brady

Stephen was born on August 12, 1953 in Marquette to John and Donna (Shorkey) Brady. He was a graduate of Marquette Senior High School. After high school, Stephen went into the U.S. Army and served during Vietnam.

Stephen was a supervisor at Bunny Bread/Sara Lee Corporation for 30 plus years. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his dogs. Stephen was a great man and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Kathryn Brady of Arnold; four children, Lisa (Don “Doc”) Brugman of Negaunee, Scott Brady of Marquette, Mike (Kate) Brady of Marquette and Kevin (Eilee) Brady of Escanaba; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Terry (Carol) Brady of Big Bay and Laura (Jack) Moore of Florida; brother-in-law, James John Rhodes; former wife, Sandy Retaskie of Marquette; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Donna Brady.

A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Gwinn VFW from 1 until 3 p.m. This will be a time of food and fellowship with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 349 of Little Lake and the U.S. Army starting at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Stephen’s name to the Wells Township School, 38211 CO RD 426, Arnold, MI 49819.
