Sarah Kamppinen
MACOMB, MI- Sarah Beth Kamppinen, age 44, has left us to be with our Savior. She passed away Monday, September 2, 2024 at Henry Ford Hospital in Macomb, after a short battle with leukemia, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Ishpeming on November 25, 1979 to John E. (Jack) Kamppinen and Marjorie (Burrows) Kamppinen. She lived in Negaunee Twp prior to relocating to Clinton Twp.
Sarah graduated from Clintondale High School and Baker College. She worked as a case worker for the Salvation Army in Warren for the past 20 years and was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Clinton Twp. Her son, Jordan, was the light of her life and the two of them traveled extensively around the United States.
Surviving are her son, Jordan Kamppinen, her parents John (Jack) Kamppinen of Deerfield Beach, Florida and Marjorie Kamppinen of Clinton Twp. As well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brother Jeffrey and her grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 12 noon at Messiah Lutheran Church in Marquette with Rev. Andrew Plocher officiating. Family and friends may call at the church prior to the service, from 11:00 to 12:00 on Friday. Burial will be in Park Cemetery.
