Lori-Ann Bell
NEGAUNEE TWP, MI-Lori-Ann Bell, 61, of Negaunee Township, entered eternal life Monday afternoon, September 16, 2024 at UP Health System Marquette with her loving husband by her side.
Lori was born July 29, 1963 in Ishpeming to William and Judith (Salminen) Larson and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1981. She earned her B.S. degree in Education from Grand Valley State University and then her Masters and Education Specialist degrees from Northern Michigan University. Lori was a devoted and talented teacher. She started her career in Utah teaching the deaf and eventually moved back to the Negaunee area. Her passion for special education and teaching reading followed her throughout her career in both the elementary and middle schools.
Lori loved to spend time with her family and friends. In the summer time, she enjoyed being on the pontoon with her husband Kevin, and the boys when they visited. She loved to be outside, taking walks, sitting by a bonfire or working on the flowers in the yard. She looked forward to the leaves changing every fall and could not wait to take a drive to look at all the colors. Lori and Kevin also enjoyed a yearly trip to Florida over the long winter, with their close friends. Lori was very passionate about attending the boys’ sports events and visiting them at Michigan Tech, even if it meant taking a quick day trip just to say hi. She cared deeply about her family and made it a priority to be the best person she could for those around her.
Lori was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Negaunee and had a strong Christian faith. She truly believed that God has a plan for each and every one of us. Her giving attitude and ability to connect with any person she met was a testament to the way she chose to live.
Surviving are her husband, Kevin Bell; two sons: Jason (Leah) of Charlotte, MI and Jeremy (Aubrey) Bell and their son, Cooper, of Ashland, WI; her father, William Larson; brothers: Billy, Jim (Sue), Jon, and Donald (Shana Thornton) Larson; sisters: Suanne Debski and Kay (Pete) Heikkila; In-laws, Gary (Diane) Bell; sister-in-law, Kallie (Greg) Bennett; brother-in-law, Kyle (April) Bell; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Judy Larson; sister, Cheryl Larson; sister-in-law, Loralee Larson; and her brother-in-law, Brian Debski.
Honoring Lori’s wishes, private family services will be held. Interment will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery.
