REPUBLIC, MI – Born in Republic, MI on 07-23-1946, Chuck was always outside, often found with a fishing pole in his hand. Chuck passed away in Texas after a recent fall, on 09-25-2024.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Henry (Hank) and Edith (Poylio) Ahtonen and his wife of 46 years Ann (Hazen) Ahtonen.
Chuck is survived by his siblings, Janet Olgren, Donna (Jerry) Fletcher, and Gilbert (Pat) Ahtonen; his children, Kelly (Robert) Ross and Kevin (Stephanie) Ahtonen; grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Cody, Darian (Danielle) Ahtonen, Alyana Ahtonen, MaKayla Douglas, and Faith (Nathan Jr.) Argall; great-grandchildren Alec Cody, Ryder Cody, Serinity Newberry, Dallas Newberry, Carmen Argall, Freyja Argall and an expected great-grandson Douglas in December this year; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Chuck was a proud member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Ishpeming before moving to Wisconsin. He worked at Lindberg’s for many years as a mechanic. Chuck loved to be outdoors hunting, trapping, and fishing. Chuck loved meeting people and getting to know them, he never knew a stranger, they were always just friends he hadn’t met yet.
No formal memorial service will be held per Chuck’s wishes, he would rather you grabbed a pole, headed to the nearest fishing hole and dropped a line and thought of your memories with him.
